Better leadership starts with seeing people more clearly.
Healthy Mind Leadership grew out of a question that became increasingly difficult to ignore.
Why do smart, capable, well-intentioned people so often struggle to become the leaders they are capable of becoming?
For more than 25 years, I worked inside complex organizations helping leaders grow by designing programs, developing teams, coaching executives, and leading organizational initiatives.
Our teams were successful. We delivered world-class content. Leaders were happy. But far too often real, sustainable change and growth were left unrealized.
Most often, the thing standing between a leader and meaningful growth isn't another skill, behavior or framework to practice. There is something happening beneath the surface . . . an unexamined assumption, a relationship they don't know how to navigate, a conversation they are avoiding, a pattern they keep repeating, or an awareness about themselves they haven't yet explored.
I became increasingly curious about what was happening beneath the surface.
That curiosity took me beyond traditional leadership development. I studied counseling and became a licensed therapist. I trained as an executive coach. I transitioned into higher education, where I could study, teach, and explore leadership dynamics in greater depth. I continue working with leaders, teams, and organizations facing the human challenges that come with the modern workplace.
Healthy Mind Leadership emerged from that intersection with a broader lens for understanding the human experience, leadership, and organizational life.
